Jon Bon Jovi began to write this song in a hotel room while suffering a hangover after the previous night. But he had a piano there, so he decided to try to write something.

The line "movies they won't make of me when I'm dead" came to Jon Bon Jovi after watching the film "The Doors" (1991) about Jim Morrison from the band The Doors.

This song has a Spanish version entitled "Cama De Rosas".
